Manual wheelchair is generally composed of pusher, wheelchair frame, wheel, brake device, anti-backward device, seat and pedal.

6. Seats

Its height, depth and width depend on the patient's body shape, and the material quality also depends on the disease type. Generally, the depth is 41, 43 cm, the width is 40, 46 cm, and the height is 45, 50 cm.

7. Seat cushion

In order to avoid pressure sores, it is possible to use eggcrate or Roto cushion as much as possible. The cushion consists of a large piece of plastic with a large number of hollow papillary plastic pillars about 5 cm in diameter. Each pillar is soft and easy to move. After sitting, the patient's pressure surface becomes a large number of pressure points, and the patient moves slightly. Pressure points change with nipple movement, so that pressure points can be constantly changed to avoid pressure sores caused by constant pressure on the same part. In the absence of the mattress, laminated foam plastics should be used. The thickness of the foam plastics should be 10 cm. The upper layer should be 0 cm and 5 cm thick. The lower layer should be medium-density plastics with the same properties. The high-density ones have strong support and the medium-density ones are soft and comfortable. In sitting position, the pressure of the ischial tubercle is very high, often 1-16 times higher than the normal capillary end pressure, and it is easy to form pressure sores due to ischemia. In order to avoid excessive pressure here, a piece of cushion is often excavated on the corresponding place to make the ischial tubercle overhead. The front of the excavation should be 2 or 5 cm in front of the ischial tubercle, and the side should be 2 or 5 cm outside the nodule. The depth should be about 7 or 5 cm. After excavation, the cushion is concave-shaped and the notch is in the back. If the cushion and the incision are used, it can be equivalent. Effective prevention of pressure ulcers.

8. Foot and leg brackets

Leg brackets can be either cross-sided or split-sided. Both brackets are ideal for swinging to one side and removable. Attention must be paid to the height of the footrest. If the foot bracket is too high, the hip bending angle is too large, and the weight is more added to the ischial tubercle, which is liable to cause pressure sores.

9. Backrest

The backrest can be divided into height, inclinability and non-inclinability. If the patient has a good balance and control of the trunk, a wheelchair with a low back can be chosen to make the patient have a greater range of motion. On the contrary, high-backed wheelchairs should be chosen.

10. Arms or brackets

Generally, it is 22, 5 to 25 cm above the seat surface, and some arm brackets can adjust the height. The lapboard can also be mounted on the arm bracket for reading and dining.
