There are two events in this competition: Half Marathon (21.0975 km) and happy run (5 km). The starting and ending point is Danyang municipal government square. The track basically covers the main roads of Danyang and shows the urban construction and cultural connotation of Danyang. Finally, Kathy Delsey Kindi from Ethiopia won the men's half marathon with 1 hour, 02 minutes and 43 seconds.
It is worth mentioning that there are 21 wheelchair runners competing in this Danyang marathon, which has become the most beautiful scenery on the track. Tan Guohua, leader of the wheelchair dance team of Danyang disabled persons' Federation Art Troupe, said in an interview when he signed up for the marathon race: "when JTC held the international marathon race last year, I thought how good it would be if I could take part in such a race. Talking about the expression of Guohua's agitation, she told reporters that she tested the 5km wheelchair with her friend's ordinary life wheelchair last year It took more than an hour to run and run the full distance. Because at first there were no gloves and blisters on the hands. When she arrived in the state, a friend bought her gloves, which was better. " I usually walk on crutches. Tan Guohua said: "I've been running in a wheelchair for 10 minutes, and I feel like I have no strength. I'm basically supported by willpower. "
In this marathon, Tan Guohua not only completed the race in person, but also led 20 other wheelchair athletes to complete the race. One of the athletes told reporters that he only started to contact wheelchair marathon this year and has participated in more than ten days of training. He said: "running a marathon is good for life. We disabled people seldom exercise, and it is good for physical strength and physical fitness. As long as there is a chance, I will take part in it later!"
